He grew up in Delhi and completed his education at some of the top educational institutions in India. Ankur graduated from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. After completing his engineering, he pursued an MBA from the Indian School of Business (ISB) in Hyderabad. After completing his MBA, Ankur worked with consulting firm A.T. Kearney for a few years before joining Rocket Internet, a global internet company that creates and invests in companies. Ankur co-founded Groupon India, which was later acquired by the company. In 2013, Ankur started his own venture, Nearbuy, which was one of the leading hyperlocal e-commerce platforms in India. He served as the CEO of Nearbuy until 2019, after which he stepped down to pursue other interests. Ankur is also a well-known angel investor in India and has invested in several start-ups, including Innerchef, Fabhotels, and Unacademy. He is a mentor to many young entrepreneurs and is known for his work in promoting entrepreneurship in India. In addition to his entrepreneurial ventures, Ankur is also a popular speaker and has given talks on various topics related to entrepreneurship and leadership.
